What is CelluErase?

CelluErase is a minimally-invasive procedure to reduce skin dimples and skin puckering caused by cellulite. We are delighted to introduce this effective and clinically proven. CelluErase targets the fibrous bands of connective tissue that pull on the skin, causing it to pucker and form dimples. These dimples are resistant to massage and exercise. After marking and numbing the dimples with tiny local anaesthetic injections, the device (which is a delicate microsurgical tool) is inserted under the skin, and it snips and breaks up these fibrous bands, releasing the tethering, and lifting the cellulite dimples, significantly improving their appearance. No stitches are needed and the tiny injection sites heal rapidly. This treatment permanently removes these fibrous bands. Compression tights are worn during the day for the following 7 days, and simple painkillers like paracetamol can be taken if needed.

What areas can be treated? CelluErase is suitable for cellulite dimples on the thighs, buttocks, flanks, and abdomen.

Who is suitable for CelluErase? The procedure is suitable for women (and men too, although they rarely get cellulite!) with cellulite dimples. The first step is to have a 30 minute consultation to assess suitability.

Who is not suitable for CelluErase?

The procedure is not suitable for women who are pregnant or trying to conceive, or who are breast feeding. It is not suitable if there is active skin disease in the area to be treated, tattoos in the area to be treated, recent surgery or aesthetic treatments in the area to be treated, ongoing infectious diseases, blood clotting/coagulation problems, thrombocytopenia, current/past deep vein thrombosis, or varicose veins in the treated area.It is also not suitable for those with severe autoimmune diseases or immunosuppressive states. If the skin in the area to be treated is very lax, loose and saggy, the procedure may not be suitable -we can provide further guidance as needed.

What aftercare is needed? The procedure takes approximately 60-90 minutes, and as we use local anaesthetic injections, you can drive home if you wish. You will likely have mild tenderness and discomfort for a few days in the treated areas and we recommend simple painkillers like paracetamol as needed. We measure you for support hosiery to wear for 7 days after the procedure (daytime only), and these will be supplied as part of your treatment. Everybody who has this procedure will have bruising at the treated sites-it is expected 100% of the time! The bruising can take 3-4 weeks to fully clear, so we don’t recommend this treatment before a special event or holiday. You can walk or exercise straightaway after the treatment, but you will be tender for a few days. We suggest you take the day off work the day after your procedure as you will be sore, especially sitting down or driving for long periods. We recommend no fake-tan/sauna/steam room/swimming pool visits for one week after the procedure.

Is this a once-off procedure or will it need to be repeated? Generally this is a once-off procedure as it permanently snips the fibrous bands that create the cellulite dimples. If the cellulite dimples are very extensive, the procedure may need to be done in two sessions rather than one, as there is a limit to how much local anaesthetic can be used in one session for medical safety reasons. The procedure can be repeated if new dimples slowly appear over the following years.
